Enjoy!

Game Beep is looking to expand our Pixel Art department.  We’re looking to pay a few good pixel artists for new, mobile friendly content.  We can pay cash or a percentage of sales, or a combination of the two.  We’re looking for almost any content that would be in demand by game developers.  Ideal candidates must be able to prove that their work is original and have references that we can contact.  Please contact us using the contact form on Game Beep.

Cheers,
- Bret

New Product: Medieval Model Pack

   Posted by: admin   in Announcements

One of Game Beep’s premier artists has just posted a fantastic new Medieval Model Pack for sale.

medieval model prop pack

http://www.gamebeep.com/models/Medieval-Model-Pack

This is a medieval model prop pack which is perfect for use in 3D games or renders. Everything you see in the rendered screens is included in the pack except the flames. Textures for models include diffuse, normal, and specular and are in .bmp format to hold maximum detail. Almost all are 1024 x 1024px.

Poly counts do not exceed 1000 triangles on any model.

Models are native to 3ds max 9 and above and have also been exported to .fbx, obj, and .mdl (for 3d Gamestudio). There are two variations of each model for formats other than .max. Models with “_split” in there file name have been split along edges which define smoothing groups. Models without “_split” have their verts welded together. This may be useful depending on what kind of lighting a particular engine uses.

Models include banner, barrel (closed and open with multiple texture variations), barrel stand, broken bricks (two model variations), chest (can be opened and closed), chest pedestal, closed sack, two cracked pot variations, three pot variations, crate (two texture variations), sack of grain, torch (with fabric top), torch holder, low pedestal, standing torch, tap for the barrels, and wicker basket (can be opened and closed).

For files other than .max tops are saved as separate models so they can be more easily manipulated in level editors and by script.

Also included are the textures used to make the scene: dungeon wall, floor, and ceiling and their respective normal and diffuse maps. (Note: the rooms are not included as models.)

And finally, three decal sprites are included: rubble, stain, and streak. These are .tga files with built in transparency.

For higher detail renders please download the dun_preview.zip file. Also if you purchase, make sure to download the ReadMe.zip.

I’m happy to announce the addition of two great, inexpensive texture packs by Fireclown Textures.

Old Rock Railway

http://www.gamebeep.com/textures/Old-Rock-Railway-Textures

Fireclown Texture’s Old Rock Railway is a collection of 21 premium quality seamless and modular texture tiles for your 2D and 3D needs. This set enables the builder to construct their unique rail network, as they have been carefully crafted to be perfectly modular. The textures come complete with contact sheet. These are suitable I’m sure for a wide range of builds, visualisations and graphics projects in a variety of genres such as Steampunk, Victorian, Wild West, Grunge, Urban, etc.

http://www.gamebeep.com/textures/Demonic-Gothic-Cathedral-Textures

Fireclown Textures’ Flesh Cathedral is a small collection of 20 premium quality textures for your 2D and 3D needs. There are ten different designs, which are provided in two colours – original flesh and blood, and a particularly demonic looking shade of blue. I have included two contact sheets; one for each colour. Each texture is four way seamless, and all of the wall tiles are modular too – or in other words they are designed to fit perfectly alongside each other.

Welcome to the new Game Beep!

   Posted by: admin   in Announcements

My fellow creative miscreants,

I’m excited to announce the new Game Beep website.  I’ve completely rewritten the site from the ground up and there are some important improvements:

  • Buying products is easier than before.  Buyers no longer need to create an account to purchase an item.  Buyers now use a shopping cart system for buying products, which makes purchasing more than one product more intuitive.
  • You might notice that there are a lot fewer products available on Game Beep.  I’ve removed products that probably would not work well in games or have not been selling.  From now on, I’ll only be accepting the cream of the crop products, and only with concrete proof of authenticity.
  • Game Beep’s products have always enjoyed great search engine placement.  Google for “tank sprite” or “medieval textures”, and Game Beep is on the first page of results.  The new site’s URL structure will be even more improved.    Instead of “http://www.gamebeep.com/textures/Medieval-Building-Textures”, the new URLs will look like “http://www.gamebeep.com/Medieval-Building-Textures”.   Artists will have the ability to customize their URLs.
  • Artist tools have been improved, including multi-file upload and improved forms with clearer instructions.

These are just a few of the many improvements included in the new site.  Over the next few months, I’ll be working even harder to bring great resources to the indie game developer community.  This blog will be used for new product announcements, interviews with artists, and site information.

Enjoy!
- Bret
